The Nissan Datsun 240Z uses a 7 inch sealed beam headlight. It is a standard beam headlight that can be purchased from automotive retailers like AutoZone and Advance Auto Parts. The entire light housing with the bulb is sold as one unit. This makes it easy to replace the whole unit instead of only the bulb. Since the housing includes everything, a replacement will include a new cover.

Headlight Issues

In the 240Z, there can be issues with the headlights not working. One cause, that is not related to the headlamps themselves, is carbon build up on the switch. The headlight switch is on a twist switch that is attached to the steering wheel column. Carbon can build up on the switch and cause the lights to not turn on. The way to solve this is to twist the switch back and forth a couple of times to loosen the carbon. The lights should work once the carbon is dislodged from the switch.

If that does not work, the bulb or lamp that is in the headlight could be burned out and a replacement will be needed. Below is a list of some of the headlights that will work with a Datsun 240Z.

The following is a list of headlights for the Datsun 240Z. Sylvania, Wagner Lighting, and United Pacific are the main companies that provide headlights for the sports car.
